C.A. Cupid Cosplay by smashworks C.A. Cupid Cosplay by smashworks
I designed and constructed this entire costume myself based on the Monster High character C.A. Cupid! I illustrated all textile prints with only photo references of the actual doll from people who were awesome enough to share images when the doll first came out. I hand screened the textile prints myself. Everything else was made from scratch by me, including the makeup.

I had an amazing time cosplaying her, it was definitely one of the most challenging costumes I've made as I have never drafted and made an overbust corset, done repeating silk screen prints, or made props like the wings and jewelry but I couldn't be happier with how it turned out :)

Hope you like :)

Your Cupid cosplay is gorgeous! I'm working on Cupid, myself, right now. If you don't mind sharing the info, may I ask how you made the wings? Or at least, what material they're made of? That's the one part of the cosplay that has me stumped!

It might be a bit too late for a reply, sorry it took me a while to come back on here!

I actually used foam core, and painted it with a medium that allows for a lot of texture and more 3d aspects (I had to do it manually with a palette knife). Then I painted them using acrylic and some other mediums. Hope that helps a bit!

I'd love to see your costume when you finish :)
